The grooved pillars at headboard and footboard add an elegant strength to the look. And this bed is strong, made properly with tried and tested carpentry. Lovely product but the wood damages so easily. My son accidentally dropped a hoover pipe against the bed footer and it took a chunk out of it which looks awful! No touchup paints are available apparently!
