Designed with easy comfort in mind and available in a number of varied colourways, our Eastbourne recliner armchair, shown here in Jetta beige, will slot easily into any colour scheme or interior style. This piece benefits from high-quality back support, padded arms and a headrest, making it an extremely comfortable spot to relax. The serpentine sprung seat and fixed, foam and fibre-filled cushions ensure that weight is always distributed evenly to prevent sagging, while the tactile yet hard-wearing polyester upholstery is cosy and soft, but will also withstand whatever day-to-day life throws at it. The electric reclining mechanism is operated using two buttons on one of the arms. Next to these controls is a USB port, so you can rest for long periods of time, charging your devices as you use them. Furniture Guard

Tactile and soft polyester fabric upholstery ensures that our Eastbourne range is wonderfully cosy and doesn't compromise on durability. Available in a number of different colourways, this inclusive range has something for everyone. We use synthetic fabrics such as polyester in our upholstery for their versatility and ability to withstand the tests of time and real life.

Frame: Our sofas, armchairs, and footstools all come with a lifetime frame guarantee, as they feature solid hardwood and are designed not to creak or warp. Joints are strongly fixed using classic carpentry skills, so you can relax and enjoy the support and comfort of well-made furniture.

Seat base: Serpentine springs spread the load of the seat cushions and give them a supportive base that won't sag over time.

Seat cushion: Fixed cushions have a foam filling to keep their shape. Softened with polyester wadding, the seat is both resilient and comfy. Relax into a seat with a medium feel, not too firm, not too soft.

Back support: Serpentine springs spread the load and keep back cushions secure, so you get support and comfort just where you need it.

Back cushion: Foam is flexible and keeps cushions in shape. Polyester wadding adds subtle shaping, and soft fibres give that deep comfort.

Feet: Black glides.

Keep fabric upholstery looking good with regular vacuuming and dusting. Give real wood legs a polish. We stock a fabric care kit, with specialist products for general cleaning, and for old or resistant marks.

Sunlight

Sunlight can cause upholstery to fade. If your sofa is placed in a sunny part of the room, maybe draw the curtains at the sunniest times of day, or have a colourfast throw to shield the sofa from the strongest sunlight.

Sofas start with the frame. All of our sofa frames come with a lifetime guarantee, as we incorporate hardwood into every one and fix all joints with classic carpentry skills to prevent creaking.

Seat base. Serpentine springs spread the load of seat cushions. We use more than most manufacturers, giving a stronger base for support.

Seat cushions. Foam and fibre fillings are used in different ways across our ranges. Choose from styles with firmer comfort or cushions that are luxuriously soft.

This was our first material sofa and chair since having a leather one for several years. It makes the room look so much bigger and lighter. It is really comfortable and much easier to stand up from than the previous one. The recliner position is brilliant and I'm informed by my grandson that the mobile charging buttons on the side are really good. We are really pleased with our purchase.

The chair is slightly bigger than my previous one and the back is lower so when it is tilted I need a cushion for my head when watching TV. However I do prefer the controls on the side of the chair rather than the style of my previous chair
