Adorn your door

When it comes to styling your home’s entrance, what better place to start than your front door? Show your guests what to expect when they enter your house, and garnish the outside of your home with a beautiful Christmas wreath. Choose traditional holly and red berries, try something different with modern whites and golds, or opt for a more minimalist design.

Wonder walls

But wreaths don’t have to just be for your front door. Why not hang a collection of minimalist wreaths from your staircase in a decorative display, or even hang them from the wall to create a welcoming Christmassy message for your guests. Guide your guests’ gaze up the staircase, or style above your festively decorated console table.

This is a fantastic nod to the festive period without going all out with boughs of Holly. You could even make them yourself! Use a simple wire, string, or twigs, and attach festive foliage you’ve foraged from your garden or nearby woods.

Style your staircase

Dressing up your staircase is a great way to bring some festive cheer to your hallway. Weave glamourous garlands through the banisters, hang festive baubles from the handrail, or simply adorn with twinkling lights for a more minimalist look.

If smaller scale is your style, the stairs are the perfect focal point for your decorations. Why not make it extra special and use holly and berries from your winter walks to create your own stair garland?

Mirror, mirror on the wall

Let your hallway mirror reflect the merriment of the season this Christmas. Dress it for the occasion with a stunning wreath, use removable festive stickers to create a Christmassy scene, or use a chalk pen to write a beautiful message or paint a picture. If using natural elements is to your taste, use the mirror as an opportunity to display your leafy garlands, or simply frame it in string lights for a simple look.

Get creative with candles

Adding candlelight to your hallway is a great way to set the tone for the festive period. Create warmth and cosiness with a candle display on your console table or hallway cabinet. Use a beautiful pillar collection, or embed smaller glass votives into wintery leaves, you’ll be sure to wow your guests and create a welcoming atmosphere.

Coordinate your console table

An absolute staple in hallway styling, your console table shouldn’t be left out in your festive decorations. Dress your hallway furniture with trinkets and Christmas ornaments, or for a more low key style, why not forage some pinecones to display in one of your favourite bowls?

You should now be ready to deck your halls to perfection for the festive season. Need some inspiration for the rest of your home? We’ve put together an ultimate guide to decorating your home for Christmas, to help you get everything ready for a stylish and relaxing Christmas.
