Looking through Pinterest, I find that I’m seeing more and more creative wall art. It really is wonderful, if a little addictive, and so I thought it would be great to share a little of that inspiration on the blog today. A while ago I wrote a post showcasing some great wooden pallet projects for the home, and Pinterest is full of them, including some interesting ideas for pallet wall art. Pallets are freely available, and a wonderfully inexpensive product useful for DIY home accessory projects. So if you’re feeling creative and looking for wall art inspiration, look no further.
It can be such an unusual element to inject into your home decor, that it’s worth allowing it to become the focal point of the room. In this example, the blogger has taken her wooden pallets and created something really different and quite eclectic. It’s rustic and creative, and would certainly grab your attention as you walked into the room. If this was in a hallway I would definitely have a very good idea of how the rest of the home would look. You don’t have to be this outlandish if you don’t want to, but it gives you a good idea of how to use items from the home you may already have, combined with your wood pallet to create something outstanding for your walls.
Typography wall art is still very popular and on trend so why not create your own? Use left over wood or wood pallets to create a backing to hang on the wall, and then use any kind of lettering to create a saying that means something you to you and your family. Hot glue the pieces in place, or use a stencil and paint. There are lots of articles on Pinterest on how to treat your wood pallets to bring longevity to them, and to make them safe to use in the home.
I just love this idea, and thing it would look stunning in a rustic or more industrial style home. It’s so easy to create something like this, and it would cost a fraction of the price of a similar piece bought in the shops. Could you see something like this on your walls?
Coastal Pallet Chic
We all still love the coastal or nautical look right? Pallet wall art is perfect for this kind of look, having a washed up, battered feeling already, and with a little time and effort you could easily recreate something like this for your own home. Stain the wood and start to build up the look with appropriate accessories. Obviously, glass, shells and whitewashed wood work best but keep it to a minimum if you want a more streamlined feel to this art.
Pallet Deer Art
Deers and stags are still everywhere this season. This look really hasn’t died away just yet, and designers are finding more and more creative ways to use them in our decor. So, why not consider adding them to your pallet wall art? I found quite a few different examples in my research on Pinterest, particularly where the silhouette was painted or stencilled onto the wood. This one however, felt a little different and more unusual, and whilst it’s for sale on Etsy, you could easily create something like this yourself for your own home.
What do you think of our wooden pallet wall art? Are you inspired or completely turned off. We would love to know what you think!
