Autumn Skies Bedroom Buying Guide

As Autumn has arrived in it’s golden-leaf glory, I thought today’s buying guide might give you some ideas on creating a relaxing bedroom using the beautiful grey and white skies as inspiration.

While we may think of Autumnal colours as rusts and reds, I thought we’d look up instead – pale grey, white soft clouds and shorter days make us want to curl up and hibernate. And our bedrooms should be the perfect sanctuary to do exactly that. So why not embrace the season?

Our beautiful Quercus range starts this scheme off with solid oak furniture built to last, the 5 foot Kingsize bed providing lots of space to stretch out and get a great night’s sleep and the stunning triple wardrobe should provide plenty of storage for cosy jumpers and extra bedding. The rustic finish of this range really brings warmth and quality to your bedroom and these base items are built to last, working with any style you wish to create in your home.

This is definitely the season for some cosy bedding and I choose West Elm’s Organic Stamped Dot Duvet as the basis for our ‘Autumn Skies’ look – the soft grey and white colour scheme is calming but the organic pattern adds interest. That organic look is picked up again in the branches side table – a quirky piece that certainly gives the room personality while introducing texture.

Pile on throw cushions from Niki Jones and House of Hackney to contrast with the bedding and finish it off with a textural quilt from Zara Home.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Autumn without a touch of sunshine and this is brought into the room by way of some brass lighting – perfect for warming up greys along with the solid wood furniture. The contemporary classic of the Tom Dixon Beat pendant looks beautiful next to the stylish brass table lamp for bedside reading.
