If you follow me here, or over on my own blog Love Chic Living, you’ll know that I have a bit of a penchant for wall coverings. Whether that is wall art and wall displays or wallpapers – I love them all! But it’s been a little while since I shared some of my wallpaper discoveries here, so I thought it about time I showcased some of my favourite designs of the minute…
Tropics from Iona Crawford:
Scottish artist and designer Iona Crawford‘s delicate and expressive designs are inspired by the vast beauty of the landscapes and nature which surround her. Each of the prints in the collection has been developed from a painted canvas and retains the original handcrafted quality.
I think it’s pretty safe to say that we’re going to be seeing a lot of marble in our home interiors and decor in the coming season! It’s slowly been gaining popularity over recent years and we’re seeing it in lots of the high street and online A/W 16 collections. So, I just had to include a marble look wallpaper in my picks. This one, again from Newmor Coverings is depicting large-scale marble blocks, and can be printed onto any colour wallcoverings or window film. Genius.
Strand by Cole & Son:
Always a sucker for bold, industrial feeling metallic designs, this one from Cole&Son drew me in immediately. It’s called Strand and is part of the Curio collection, a range of 11 designs in shimmering mineral surfaces, woodgrain textures, sea corals and precious stones. Strand features brush-strokes of gleaming, shiny metals and muted, chalky mattes and is available in several different colourways.
Prestigious Textiles Linea Vinyl:
I found this bold design whilst hunting through John Lewis the other day, and instantly fell in love with it. Do you notice how many of my choices are bold, dark and moody, perfect for the A/W season that’s coming upon us? I think possibly I’m a little over botanicals and summer pastels and longing for something with a little depth to it. I’ll quite happily keep the sunshine for the moment though. This one from Prestigious Textiles embraces moody blues, oxidised reds, rich purples and lustrous metallics. And is a bargain too at just £37 per roll.
Magnetic Dino for the Kids:
Finally I’m completing my showcase today with one for the children. I first came across Sian Zeng after a collaboration a few years ago with Graham and Brown and so was delighted to come across this creative collection for children. It’s incredibly difficult to find a decent wallpaper design for a child’s room that won’t date, and is robust enough to withstand the changes in age and likes or dislikes. I love the fact that this particular design, whilst looking the business, is also magnetic, enabling the child to interact with the design on a completely new level. Hang the magnetic liner first, then hang the wallpaper. It’s not cheap though, and at £256 per roll I’m not sure how keen you’ll be to let your children write on the speech bubbles, but if that does phase you, it’s also available as a normal wallpaper too.
So, what do you think of today’s wallpaper selection? Is there something there for your home?
