The Regional Sales Manager’s role is to ensure that they maximize sales and profitability in all showrooms throughout the region by ensuring that every store is managed by a competent, motivated Manager and to ensure that each team provides exceptional customer service through effective coaching and teamwork. They must ensure that they protect the business by following the correct procedures and ensure that any risks are managed correctly. The RSM must also take an active role in the new store roll out programme.

General Responsibilities

Customer Focus:-
Create a customer service culture throughout all showrooms across the region, where all teams are seizing every opportunity to drive sales
Support, develop and coach retail store managers to identify and take advantage of opportunities to improve service standards as well as to resolve complaints
Lead by example, personally demonstrating excellent customer service to both internal and external customers
Drive and implement customer service improvement initiatives throughout the region
Sales and Business Performance: -
Responsible for ensuring that the Region exceeds all sales and profitability targets and for delivering outstanding business results
Use a coaching style to develop the commercial awareness of Retail Store Managers, and ensure each Manager applies a commercial view to all proposals and decisions, based on excellent product knowledge, and understanding of local trading environment, competitors and customer base
Encourage Store Managers to run the showrooms as though they are their own business
Effective and efficient control of costs and allocation of resources throughout the Region
Monitor and control budgets throughout the Region, whilst making each Store Manager accountable for controlling operating costs within budget
Responsible for ensuring that all key loss areas, particularly shrinkage, are controlled throughout all showrooms
Ensure all Retail Store Managers are aware of trends and competitor activity, to ensure the brands maintain competitive advantage
Maintain an effective working relationship with local stores/ shopping centre management as well as identify and feedback opportunities for new business
Operating Standards:-
Responsible for compliance to company policies and procedures and current legislation in all stores on the Region
Manage the Retail Store Managers to ensure that all stores adhere to best practice and deliver excellent operating standards and working environment
Ensure that all commercial opportunities are maximized through timely implementation of Company promotions, offers and marketing initiatives
Coach store managers to use flair and creativity to ensure that visual merchandising maximizes sales opportunities and consistently exceeds company standards
Ensure a safe working environment within every showroom in compliance with all health & safety and fire regulations
Team Working & Leadership
Act as an active member of the retail team by supporting colleagues for benefit of the wider business
Provide inspiring Leadership and support for Retail Store Managers
Uses performance management to set out clear accountabilities and responsibilities as well as giving praise and recognition to positive behaviours and results, whilst dealing swiftly and constructively with performance issues
Build a diverse team with a blend of experience skills and potential, treating other with respect, dignity and integrity and encouraging ownership of shared goals and objectives.
Recruit, develop and coach managers so that every showroom has a competent Manager and individuals continue to expand their range of skills through personal development
Proactively manage succession planning, with support from HR in the region to encourage internal progression
Be an energetic instigator of change
Communicate effectively at all levels of the business

Your role will support the Visual Merchandiser in the South West region. Responsibilities

· Responsible for accurate delivery of product into the showrooms within your region of between 14 - 16 stores.
· Responsible for the load in of product and management of Display team during any new store Opening, Refit or Refresh.
· Working alongside the Visual Merchandiser to execute any plans for store openings or store refits in your region.
· Working with the Visual Merchandising team to merchandise at all new store openings in your region and sometimes nationwide.
· Duties will include - Heavy lifting, painting, decorating.
· Replenish and Refresh stores on a regular basis.
· Effectively merchandise new product ranges across South West Region of stores and ensure high standards are met.

Other Information

Oak Furniture Land presently has 69 stores nationwide, you will be partly responsible for approximately 16 stores and may be required to travel long distances to meet with the demands of the business. A clean driving licence required.

Normal working hours are 40 hours a week, but additional hours and a degree of flexibility will be needed to meet deadlines.
