Responsibilities

Responsible for the Visual Merchandising standards in the South East Region with an excellent understanding of the OFL way of display.
Working with the Head of Visual Merchandising to execute cohesive and commercial plans for any store openings or store refits.
Working with the Visual Merchandising team to merchandise at all new store openings in your region and sometimes Nationwide.
Liaising with builders, designers, warehouse, logistics and regional managers when required.
Replenish and refresh stores on a regular basis.
Effectively merchandise new product ranges across Scotland and North East region of stores and ensure high standards are met.
Manage your time effectively to meet with the business’s needs.
Have an up to date and coherent knowledge of competitor activity, be aware of current trends and activities in design and culture.
Constantly reporting on your stores, paying particular attention to standards.
You may be required to travel long distances to meet with the demands of the business.

Experience

Previous experience as a Visual Merchandiser in Retail.
Experience in Retail home wares is desirable.
Must have a flair for design and colour, be creative, imaginative and energetic, with a passionate interest in interiors - relevant qualification in art or design/interior design is an advantage, but not a requirement.
Good communication skills to present ideas to others.
Must be able to concentrate and work to tight deadlines, be self-motivated and practical.
Having technical drawing skills and being able to use computer-aided design packages is a great advantage.

Oak Furniture Land was featured in the Sunday Times Fast Track list of rapidly growing businesses for the last 2 years running and offers a dynamic and exciting environment to work in.

We are looking for dynamic individuals with a passion for sales and exceeding expectations. Commission can be earned by converting initial sales enquiries into sales and actively encouraging our customers to spend more money with us. You will be heavily targeted on various KPI’s including revenue, call conversion rate, and add on sales.

In return for meeting these targets we offer an extremely competitive basic salary of £18k to £22k basic OTE £38k; the commission structure is uncapped where our top performers earn in excess of £50k. The hours of work are 40 per week 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis including weekends and bank holidays. There will be no cold calling with the focus on inbound and outbound calls.

    General Responsibilities

    Participate in a team-oriented environment to develop complex web based applications using best practices.

    Balance a variety of concurrent projects.

    Create technical specification from a non-technical colleague and deliver a project to that specification whilst also communicating your changes to the development team.

    Specific Experience Required

    Minimum of 2 years experience in commercial PHP development
    Proven track record for developing scalable web applications
    Strong experience writing clean code with the ability to pick up new technologies quickly

    Technical Skills Required

    Detailed knowledge of web application development and extensive experience using PHP 5.

    Be able to code complex DDL and DML SQL from scratch. Optimize queries and modify existing SQL in a MySQL environment.

    Experience with web application frameworks such as Zend.

    Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as jQuery.

    Experience developing cross-browser interfaces using XHTML/HTML5, CSS and JavaScript.

    Experience with version control systems such as SVN and GIT.

    Experience with Linux/Unix especially using basic command line tools.

    Experience using common business software such as Word, Excel and Visio to visualize, discuss and present ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.

    Non-Technical Skills Required

You will have previous experience as a successful retail manager and be able to demonstrate your past achievements in previous roles. Being a clearance store you will have to possess and display a wide range of skills and organisation and have responsibility of all aspects of the day to day running of the store. This will include overseeing the logistics of organising and receiving in clearance product to your store, correctly processing it and displaying it in line with company criteria, through to ensuring fulfilment of the customer’s order direct from your store. Stock control and collation of reports for senior management is imperative. You will use your wealth of experience to help drive sales within the store and motivate your team to achieve pre-defined targets and meet KPI’s.

    As a result of our business growth, are currently recruiting for Sales Support Consultants. In this role the successful candidate will be expected to work within a vibrant call centre dealing with all sales administration in addition to speaking to our customers and guiding them through the order process after the initial sale has been made.The ability to multi task and prioritise workloads is essential.

    Employee who have possessed the ability to do this role in the past have been given some excellent career development opportunities. You will be given the opportunity to supplement your salary by offering our customer various add on sales however you will not be targeted on these.

    We offer a competitive basic salary, £18k to £22k OTE £25k uncapped, with the genuine career development opportunities. The successful candidate will work as part of team of sales executives in our inbound call centre (no cold calling) responsible for all sales enquiries, converting sales, and actively offering appropriate upsells. The h ours of work are 40 per week 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis including weekends and bank holidays.

    We are looking for people with the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience in a customer service industry

  • Previous experience in administration (preferably office based)

  • Excellent telephone manner

  • Basic IT skills

  • The ability to offer appropriate resolutions to customer problems

  • Must prepared to take complete ownership of the order process and make themselves accountable
