The Regional Sales Manager’s role is to ensure that they maximize sales and profitability in all showrooms throughout the region by ensuring that every store is managed by a competent, motivated Manager and to ensure that each team provides exceptional customer service through effective coaching and teamwork. They must ensure that they protect the business by following the correct procedures and ensure that any risks are managed correctly. The RSM must also take an active role in the new store roll out programme.

General Responsibilities

Customer Focus:-
• Create a customer service culture throughout all showrooms across the region, where all teams are seizing every opportunity to drive sales
• Support, develop and coach retail store managers to identify and take advantage of opportunities to improve service standards as well as to resolve complaints
• Lead by example, personally demonstrating excellent customer service to both internal and external customers
• Drive and implement customer service improvement initiatives throughout the region
Sales and Business Performance: -
• Responsible for ensuring that the Region exceeds all sales and profitability targets and for delivering outstanding business results
• Use a coaching style to develop the commercial awareness of Retail Store Managers, and ensure each Manager applies a commercial view to all proposals and decisions, based on excellent product knowledge, and understanding of local trading environment, competitors and customer base
• Encourage Store Managers to run the showrooms as though they are their own business
• Effective and efficient control of costs and allocation of resources throughout the Region
• Monitor and control budgets throughout the Region, whilst making each Store Manager accountable for controlling operating costs within budget
• Responsible for ensuring that all key loss areas, particularly shrinkage, are controlled throughout all showrooms
• Ensure all Retail Store Managers are aware of trends and competitor activity, to ensure the brands maintain competitive advantage
• Maintain an effective working relationship with local stores/ shopping centre management as well as identify and feedback opportunities for new business
Operating Standards:-
• Responsible for compliance to company policies and procedures and current legislation in all stores on the Region
• Manage the Retail Store Managers to ensure that all stores adhere to best practice and deliver excellent operating standards and working environment
• Ensure that all commercial opportunities are maximized through timely implementation of Company promotions, offers and marketing initiatives
• Coach store managers to use flair and creativity to ensure that visual merchandising maximizes sales opportunities and consistently exceeds company standards
• Ensure a safe working environment within every showroom in compliance with all health & safety and fire regulations
Team Working & Leadership
• Act as an active member of the retail team by supporting colleagues for benefit of the wider business
• Provide inspiring Leadership and support for Retail Store Managers
• Uses performance management to set out clear accountabilities and responsibilities as well as giving praise and recognition to positive behaviours and results, whilst dealing swiftly and constructively with performance issues
• Build a diverse team with a blend of experience skills and potential, treating other with respect, dignity and integrity and encouraging ownership of shared goals and objectives.
• Recruit, develop and coach managers so that every showroom has a competent Manager and individuals continue to expand their range of skills through personal development
• Proactively manage succession planning, with support from HR in the region to encourage internal progression
• Be an energetic instigator of change
• Communicate effectively at all levels of the business

General responsibilities include:

Accurate delivery and merchandising of products into the showrooms within your region of between 14-16 showrooms
Supporting plans for showroom openings or refits within your region for example merchandising at all new showroom openings across your region and sometimes nationwide
Ensure that new product ranges are effectively merchandised across the region of showrooms whilst maintaining high standards at all times
Regular duties will include heavy lifting, painting,and general decorating across the region of showrooms as required

Essential experience required

You must be competent in general DIY for example be able to use an electric drill, power saw, electric screwdriver etc
Basic computer skills are required ie: use of email, word, excel
You must be self motivated and be able to manage your time effectively to meet with the business’s needs
Full clean driving license required as travel is required between showrooms

o Create a ticket for an enquiry
o Set SLAs
o Upload images
o Highlight escalated enquiries
o Locate and assign enquiries
o Re-direct enquiries to the correct department
• Service repair report management:
o Ensure that all service repair reports requiring immediate action are passed to Customer Service for contact
o Input costs and resolve service cases following service repair appointments
o Monitor messages submitted from Homeserve and take appropriate action
• Review and where possible resolve service cases that remain open
• To inform the line manager of any individual who has incorrectly completed the Service Case administration
• Provide administrative support and assistance to the Customer Service team
• Log all urgent order status changes and liaise with JB Direct to ensure they are completed
